From infrastructure to the spaces of cultural encounter.

OSAN / Overview
From infrastructure to the spaces of cultural encounter.
OSAN’s 2019–2020 work at Hong Kong Palace Museum encompassed all infrastructure works, interior architectural design and the complete interior architecture and decoration scope. The OSAN budget for its work is USD 188 million.
This appointment brings the work beneath and behind the interior into the same account as the spaces experienced by visitors. Infrastructure, interior design and decoration are the three connected fields through which OSAN’s contribution is described.
Budget refers to the work attributed to OSAN and is separate from the overall project investment.
Scope & responsibility
Our scope
ENGINEERING IN FOCUS
Connected infrastructure.
Infrastructure zones
Building infrastructure is organised through connected zones, routes and levels. Its relationship with structure and occupied space establishes how the underlying work fits within the building. The appointed package determines which parts are included.

Connected interfaces
The infrastructure package meets the surrounding construction at defined interfaces. Reading these points together connects the internal environment with the work that supports it. The conceptual model explores continuity between separate zones.
Installation sequence
Infrastructure work is related to adjoining structural and interior activities. Their order and access conditions influence the organisation of the package. The construction sequence needs to be read together with the boundaries of the appointment.
